I’m Sharon…
I’m the heart and hands behind Cheerful Hearts Studio. I live in Iowa, where life is a sweet mix of family, faith, and creativity. From the time I was young, I loved drawing, painting, and trying all sorts of arts and crafts. In college, I fell in love with calligraphy, and over time developed my own hand lettering style—first with pen and paper, and more recently, on my iPad using the Procreate app (paired with my trusty Apple Pencil!). It’s been such a fun and fulfilling way to create.
At the core of my work is my faith in God. I’m a Christian who finds deep joy in Scripture and in sharing words that encourage and uplift. I especially love incorporating Bible verses and inspirational sayings into my art—messages for the home, for the heart, and for the family.
Outside the studio, I’m married to my wonderful husband, Kirk, and we’ve been blessed with three kids and six beautiful grandkids (one in heaven). I love listening to contemporary Christian music, and have also loved singing, and enjoyed participating in our church’s worship team.
Over the years, I’ve sold my creations at craft shows and even had a little booth space in a local shop. These days, I run an Etsy shop—Cheerful Hearts Studio—where I offer stickers, magnets, and now digital prints, too.
At the end of last year, Colossians 3:16 really stirred something in me: “Let the words of Christ dwell in you richly…”
That verse became the spark behind a new monthly handwriting journey I call “His Words at Home in My Heart.” Each month, I’ve put together a list of themed Bible verses, and I’ve invited others to join along too. It’s been such a joy to connect with people who want to keep God’s Word close—in our hearts and minds!
This website/blog is a new space where I’ll share more about my creative process, behind-the-scenes glimpses of some new designs I working on, reflections of life and my faith journey, and hopefully will be an encouragement for anyone who visits. Whether you’re here for inspiration, to follow along with “His Words at Home in My Heart,” or just to say hello—I’m truly grateful you’ve stopped by.
Here’s to cheering hearts, with God’s word, a bit of encouragement and some faith-filled creativity.
Thanks for being here!
With hugs & joy,
Sharon
